8596295-03 Soot Particle Matter sensor

BMW 8596295-03 Bosch 0281008472473 EGS-PM2.1 Exhaust Gas soot Particulate Matter sensor.

8596295-03 PM sensor is factory fitted on many different BMW cars with diesel engine.

New generation emission control sensor.

If you see check engine light (CEL) and diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) shows error codes related to exhaust gas sensor in short PM, it means that sensor has failed.

It is always recommended to fix this issue as soon as possible to avoid any damages to DPF filter, otherwise diesel particulate matter or soot can clog filter and it will cost you thousands to fix.

Some definitions: DPF - diesel particulate filter, EGS-PM2.1 - exhaust gas particulate matter sensor.

Error cleaning may be required, but just once after fitting new NOX sensor, it can be done by yourself, no need to visit car dealer.
