Xenon module is factory fitted on Volvo V50 and S40 facelift cars with Gas Discharge D1S 35W HID bulbs headlights.
If your main or high beam has malfunction and bulb is in working order, then you will need to replace headlamp control unit.
Another symphtom of faulty Volvo 31214562 ballast is blinking / flickering lights, if you turn on main beam and lights do that it pinpoints to faulty xenon control unit as well.
